CMA Acquires Woodstock Garage, Launches CMA’s Skyline CDJR | Carter Myers Automotive

Carter Myers Automotive, a Charlottesville-based automobile dealership group celebrating 95 years in Virginia, today announced the acquisition of Woodstock Garage from Hal and Rex Morrison. The new dealership will operate as CMA’s Skyline Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM (CDJR) at the current location, 601 N. Main Street in Woodstock, VA.

“We’ve made significant investments with CMA’s Valley CDJR in Staunton, and are excited to move these brands forward in Woodstock,” said Liza Borches, CMA’s fourth-generation President & CEO, “Like Woodstock Garage, CMA was founded by a Virginia family – my family – nearly 95 years ago. We’re honored that Rex and Hal Morrison, whose family has run Woodstock Garage since its inception, trust CMA with the future of this dealership. We look forward to adding the current Woodstock Garage associates to the CMA family and to bringing new jobs to the Woodstock area.”
With this acquisition, CMA now represents 17 new car brands and employs over 600 people in Virginia. In addition to CMA’s Skyline CDJR, CMA operates five dealerships in Staunton, three in Charlottesville, and five in the Richmond market. They also operate a stand-alone service center in Ruckersville and the Central Virginia Auto Auction.
CMA remains a family-owned business, yet also shares ownership with its employees. Through a unique Employee Stock Ownership Plan, CMA’s 600+ employee-owners currently own over 26% of the company. CMA is hiring. Career opportunities can be found on their website www.CMAcars.com.
